How can one create equal opportunities in dating apps without relying on external appearance
BACKGROUND
Project Overview
TALKTANGO is a dating app aimed at creating equal opportunities and facilitating connections between potential matches without relying on external appearance as the primary characteristic. Instead, it focuses on personality traits and shared interests, achieved through conversations with anonymous avatar images. Only after both users engage in a conversation for 5 days can they decide if they want to reveal each other's photos
The problem

Market Research
To begin understanding the significant issues, I examined the major players in the market: dating apps based on external appearance and a desire for surface-level and temporary connections, as well as those centered around content and deeper connections. Key findings from the market survey I conducted include
The registration process should be quick and user-friendly
We should conduct a rapid background check and varification of the user to establish trustworthiness
It's crucial to ensure a balance between male and female users in the application
User Study
To understand the central issues, I conducted a survey with 30 participants (N=30), including 15 men and 15 single women residing in the central region of the country. They generally use dating apps to meet new people. Analyzing why they use a specific app led to the following conclusions
Make the app better for real connections, not just •
quick meetings
Users should upload ID photos for verification •
during registration
Get men to sign up and use the app with discounts •
for affordable dates

In the registration process, the user will choose an anonymous avatar to serve as their profile picture in the app

The user is required to attach an identification document file to use the application, in addition to providing three clear facial photos
